About Laurence N. Gold

As Editor and Publisher of Inside Research, Mr. Gold writes about the business and profession of marketing research, reporting on industry events, company news, and the people involved.

Mr. Gold has spent more than 40 years working in the profession of marketing research, including executive positions for AC Nielsen Corp., MRCA Information Services, and Metromedia, Inc.

Mr. Gold served as Director of Research for the Advertising Research Foundation (ARF), directed the research activities of ARF’s marketing research councils, and developed related annual conference events.  He also served as Membership Consulting Director, planning and administering the association’s member relations and acquisition programs.  He has also been a speaker at ARF, American Marketing Association (AMA), and the European Society of Marketing and Opinion Research (ESOMAR) conferences.  He has been a guest lecturer at several universities.  His papers have been published in the Journal of Advertising Research, Marketing Research, Marketing Review, and the Journal of ESOMAR.  He was the editor of the New Technology department in Marketing Research, A Magazine of Management & Applications.
